Prof. Sanjit Sethi​

Sanjit Sethi is the Director of the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at the George Washington University. Born in Rochester, New York, Director Sethi has taught at numerous academic institutions including MIT, the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, and California College of the Arts. Sanjit has been Executive Director of the Santa Fe Art Institute (SFAI) and previous to that was Director of the Center for Art and Public Life and Barclay Simpson Professor/ Chair of Community Arts at the California College of the Arts. He holds a BFA in ceramics from Alfred University, an MFA in ceramics and sculpture from the University of Georgia, and an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

This talk in intended to open a broader dialogue about what lies ahead for Art and Design Education. By using nine questions as points of departure we can gain insight into what makes remarkable, relevant, educational communities. This talk will look at the work at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design as well as other communities dedicated to creativity and positive social change.
